Karma Confessions

“Karma means action, work or deed; it also refers to the principle of where intent and actions of an individual influence the future of that individual. Good intent and good deed contribute to good karma and future happiness, while bad intent and bad deed contribute to bad karma and future suffering. Karma is closely associated with the idea of rebirth in some schools of Asian religions. In these schools, karma in the present affects one’s future in the current life, as well as the nature and quality of future lives.”

I believe strongly in the concept of karma, excluding the idea of our deeds in our present life affecting our future lives. I feel that it all gets adjusted in the same life. Every good deed attracts fortune and every bad deed pays it dues, all in one life. No carry forward. No future adjustments.

Karma is nothing but an exchange of energy. We all have positive and negative energies within us. Positive energies create positive emotions such as faith, trust, love, care, affection, empathy, forgiveness and  peace. On the other hand, negative energies create distrust, anger, confusion, aggression, chaos and above all destruction.

So, every decision that we take to send out a positive vibe turns into a good deed and into good karma.

Somehow most of us are not careful about what vibes we send out to the world. It is so easy for us to yell at people in traffic, be inconsiderate toward our juniors, exploit personal relationships, be discouraging to our kids, be unfaithful to our spouse, and above all be so unkind to our inner being by consistent criticism and comparison with others. All such actions add to bad karma.

I don’t think God gives any punishment for bad karma after you die. There is no need for it as when we decide to do send out a negative energy, it could be as simple as being rude to someone, we decide to create our own hell or heaven everyday. You are responsible for everything in your life.

Decide to create a beautiful day for yourself, always!

Happy Evolving!!

  1. I somehow feel that there got to be a Catalyst for Good Karma. All these centuries we had a nice product like religion with its features like good afterlife, awesome rebirth, mukti, etc..which made people to deliver Good Karma, (though there were exceptions). But in today’s world when religion/ God is becoming disconnected with our species due to our growing intelligence and knowledge, i wonder what the catalyst would be..Or do we even need one considering our ‘understanding’ of things? I dont know..thanks for sharing

    • Interesting perspective.

With my increased awarness about religion, I have realised that religion is nothing but human interpretation of what God woulod expect us to be but when you delve deeper into Geeta or Buddhist literature, every positive energy promotes the concept of be good – do good. If you look beyond the rituals and the marketing gimmicks of priests, every religion saysevery positive energy originated from one common sources.

I am glad our generation adopts a more refreshing and individualistic prespective about religion which for me is an infinte source of positive energy, with no physical entity.

There are several researches done in a field called positive psychology where concept of good brings good is tested. Ideas of gratitude, resilence, helping others are tested for their effectiveness on a person’s state of being.

In a world where negativity sells like bread, it is refreshing to look at people at the other end of the road. People who still believe in concept of energy exchange or karma and what you give is what your recieve.
